Vinaroz Die Cast Aluminum wok with Ceramic Coating 30-Cm, Red

The best--I love this wok
I previously got pretty excited about a smaller piece of ceramic cookware from another maker and gave it a 5 star review after using it only a few times. If I had waited a bit, I would have downgraded it to 4 stars because it did show some signs of wear after a relatively short period of use, although the flaws in the finish did not have any discernible effect on the functionality of the pan. In any case, I decided to wait before reviewing this Vinaroz product and I'm very happy to report that after intensive use it still looks brand new and there are no blemishes of any kind in the finish, contrary to the experience of another reviewer who only gave it 4 stars. [I use a relatively soft bamboo spatula to stir the food with.] And while on the subject of other reviewers, I am in agreement with the reviewer who wrote that there was no need to season the pan as opposed to the reviewer who said that one must always season ceramic cookware. I did not season my wok and it works perfectly,...

Better in theory
I got this pretty quickly after I ordered it, and it works great. It's simple to clean, great for frying, and is all-around amazing. At least, the first few times I used it.

However, the particular wok I received had several flaws in the ceramic on the bottom. After I burnt some rice in the bottom, I noticed it had settled into some cracks and grooves and stained the bottom. There were also several flaws in the chrome finish when I received it. It's still beautiful and functional, but I worry about how well it will hold up in the future with these little mistakes. Had it arrived in perfect condition, I'd be far less wary.

As it's ceramic, you shouldn't use any metal utensils in it to avoid scratching the finish. I've been using bamboo exclusively since I received it.

almost makes it
I own a restaurant so I have experience with many types of cookware. I got this because I needed a new wok for personal use, and the ceramic coating was interesting. The cheap price made me pause but I got it anyway. Fast delivery. I've used it for three, four months on average twice a week or less. What I do like: The non-stick surface is pretty good, not as good as professional Teflon, but OK. Cheap. Heats up fast. Nice grippy handle. Works like a wok.
What I don't like. The white cooking surface. Everything shows. Makes it look unsanitary. Definitely have to use cooking oil, esp if eggs are involved. Every little brown, black, yellow bit shows up. Worst of all, the coating is not durable. I don't wash mine promptly after each use so it may sit on the counter, or in the sink for a while, but I never pile dishes in it, and have only used plastic to stir. STILL mine has many many scratches and a few dings. The white surface is discoloring too. All this after not...
