Silicone Tip Utility Tong, Stainless Steel - 7''

Pretty good
I like them. They are exactly what I wanted I just took a star away for the fact that they are like normal tongs but "scaled down" so they are a touch smaller than I expected and they look slightly like a toy so I wouldn't use them on a grill. But they are exactly as described so I can'/t really be mad and they are extremely useful to have in the kitchen.

a bit short
these tongs were alright, and I liked that they were coated with silicone which won't melt. However, they were just too short for my needs. I don't want my hands that close to the heat.

Very small
These are exactly the style I wanted, but are a lot smaller than I expected. I recognized that 7" wasn't going to be very long, but the rest of the tong is in proportion to the length and considerably more petite than any of my others. All the others are the same size in every respect but handle length while these seem almost miniaturized.

Obviously they are perfect for more delicate work and a small woman's hand. I can see they'd be great for candies, mini-cupcakes and some types of cake decorating. I planned to use them at the stove in my non-stick skillets, however. The reason I prefer this style is because I seldom lock the tongs closed and don't like a big locking mechanism sticking out of the end. I hang my open tongs over my oven towel-rack style handle. If the tong has a substantial locking mechanism, it doesn't fit well over the handle without getting wedged. Since this type has the sliding 'ring' method for locking, they work far better for me as nothing...
