Beautiful and Functional
We own several other Pillivuyt bakeware pieces, but this is the first oval baking dish that we added to our collection. As with all of the Pillivuyt products that we own, the quality and craftsmanship of this piece is impeccable - Pillivuyt's porcelain really is every bit as beautiful as it is functional.
We just used this baking dish for the first time last weekend, and I can say that the apple and pear crisp that we baked in it came out better than it ever has before! The baker heats gently and evenly, and despite the baked on mess that was left behind (not just from baking, but we also reheated the apple and pear crisp in this dish several times in the oven), all it took was some soap and warm water to get the baker clean again - no hard scrubbing, and no prolonged soaking...clean up was an absolute breeze! I have to say, I was not expecting that, so it was a pleasant surprise!
