Nice But No Whistle
The tea kettle looks very nice and had no obvious defects in its enamel coating. It has about a 5 1/4 inch base in contact with the burner, is about 8 1/2 inches tall from bottom to top of handle, and is about 7 inches in width not including the spout. However, if you need it to whistle, you may be disappointed as I needed to razor and cut off plastic in order for the spout cap to fit flat against the spout. My suspicion is that this problem is not unique to my individual kettle but rather a design flaw.

I do like this product, but the reason I wanted this product was because it stated it whistled. Have used this product numerous times and it does NOT whistle at all.
Great Whistling Kettle
Was a little concerned that kettle wouldn't whistle, based on reviews here, but no problem, kettle has a whistle that is easy to hear. Other features I like: it is heavy and sturdy, the top is easy to take off but still fits firmly onto kettle, the top of the spout is easy to raise for pouring, the handle is comfortable to hold, and the design is attractive. The one very minor issue, as others have noted, the off white has a yellow tone, not the color pictured here. But still love this kettle, feels like it is well made and will last a long time. My old kettle was also 2 1/2 qts, but was larger, so I measured this kettle by filling with water, and yes it did take 2 1/2 qts but that brought water right up to the top rim. Would recommend.
