Flaws in the finish but it sure can cook
It's not a product with style and grace. Very utilitarian. The finish is a little sloppy joining the bowl to the top.
The manual is pretty worthless beyond safety notices and some of the warnings are wrong such as saying that a round bottomed pot won't work on this burner. Because only a round bottom wok does work on it.
In use, the bowl discolors from drops of oil and such. Not a big deal and I expected it would. Just don't expect it to remain pristine white.
But beyond that, the controls are easy to figure out and well shielded from bumps and accidental adjustments. The knob is quick and easy to use to adjust power, timer or temperature settings.
Works pretty well for wok cooking, especially for the round bottom woks. Quick heating, powerful, it cooks better than the average home stove top. You still have to be cautious about overloading the wok and dropping the temperature too much, but less so than on the stove. And heat recovery is...
Plain but effective
This is four stars only because of the general lameness of the presentation: short, stiff cord, cheap satin-finish stainless etc..
But it is a great buy. We stir-fry a lot. It's the default busy-evening dinner. And having, FINALLY, something that really heats up the wok, responds immediately to temperature change, and really is suited to the task is wonderful. It's big and clunky, but I really love having it!
